What is Acupuncture

Discovering what acupuncture is? It’s a wonderful natural system of medicine that restores and maintains our health. The treatment works by activating a person’s own recuperative and healing powers. Going back 2000 years, the practice was then an established part of Chinese Medicine.

We are healthy when the flow of “Qi” or vitality is clear and strong in our being. Dis-harmony plus dis-ease arise when energy flow has become blocked or depleted. Appropriate choice and treatment of acupuncture points along the meridians work to re-establish and maintain the energy flow and also restore the natural balance of body and mind.

Traditionally, this ancient practice works with the “Qi” (pronounced “chee”), or the vital energy of the body. This energy flows continuously through the meridian system, an energetic network linking specific points which in turn influence our health and well-being in all its aspects.

The Flow of Health

Shallow insertion of hair-fine needles provides treatment. Noninvasive acupressure provides an alternative. The therapy is also suitable for any age from newborn upwards. It is amazingly relaxing as it helps release our blocks and stresses. Use of a diagnostic system preventatively corrects imbalances in their early stages.

Having been an acupuncturist for over 25 years now Sue just loves this truly holistic approach to health. She also finds it is great to be able to treat the whole person rather than just the disease. Moreover, to work with the cause of the problem as well as the symptoms with no unwanted side effects!
